That means I'm here :) This is such a wonderful place! The last two days have definitely been a whirl-wind.. But I'm here! I'm so happy :)
President Taggart and his wife are the BEST. They came to meet us at the airport with the APs and I had a little interview there with President that was just about my goals and expectations and whatnot. Then 20 missionaries from Provo showed up! Holy cow! There's tons of us! But we went straight from the airport to downtown Newark where we met a bunch of old missionaries. We were told to grab a Book of Mormon from a box in the middle of the park-area, then they all started singing "Called to Serve." When we sang "onward" in the chorus, everyone started running!! Haha so we went all different directions in downtown Newark with a companion and handed out Book of Mormons! We only had about half an hour, but the girl I was with and I placed two Book of Mormons, one in English and one in Spanish. We got the contact info from the Spanish couple we talked to and they said they wanted the missionaries to come see them! So there's a referral for the Newark missionaries! We all slept in the mission home last night and had a lovely breakfast this morning.
After breakfast we went to a near-by chapel and had a little training by the AP's and the Taggarts and then we got our trainers!! Mine (my mom) is Hermana Pace. She's from Las Vegas! She's only been here twelve weeks, but she's awesome! We've talked a bit in Spanish and I know we'll learn lots together. She's way good! And she's got a wonderful work-ethic. We're going to do great things together. We live in Tom's River, but we do most of our work in Lakewood.
Our address here is:
83 Walnut St. #49
Tom's River, NJ 08753
We have a nice little apartment. Tomorrow we'll take some time to go shopping for food and dry shampoo and whatnot. Tonight we're having dinner with some members and a little FHE with another family. I'm excited to meet them! I love and trust Hermana Pace and I'm so happy to be working with her! I'm sure I'll have much more to write on Monday, my next P-day. But just know that I'm safe and I'm happy and all is well in Zion :) AND I'll have two hours to write on Monday! Woo!
I'll talk to you then! :)
Con Amor,
Hermana Millington
